All-new Renault Austral: orders open in France

Pre-ordering started on 30 June and All-new Renault Austral will be available to order on 20 September, from the Renault network in France and on renault.fr. Deliveries will begin in December 2022. Customers who have pre-ordered their vehicle will be asked to confirm their order so that they are among the first to take delivery.

All-new Renault Austral is up-to-the-minute, high-tech, spacious, comfortable and encapsulates the Renaulution’s strategy to reconquer the C segment. It is at the core of the C-SUV segment, is right for private use as much as professional use, and is a distinctive status symbol. Its efficient E-Tech Full Hybrid powertrains meet the most demanding fleet managers’ TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) requirements, and suits private owners seeking to better manage expenditure and avoid battery charging constraints.

ENGINES WITH THE BEST FUEL CONSUMPTION AND CO2 EMISSIONS

To treat customers to a premium driving experience combining vitality and efficiency, Renault has fit All-new Austral with a new-generation 160 or 200 hp E-TECH Full Hybrid powertrain. This powertrain is packed with technology, including a new 3 cylinder, 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine delivering 96 kW (130 hp) and 205 Nm of torque. It is combined with a new electric motor, a lithium-ion battery (2 kWh/400 V) and a multi-mode intelligent gearbox offering 15 combinations, 2 of which are in 100% electric mode. Its consumption, starting at 4.6 l/100 km and CO₂ emissions, starting at 104 g/km, are unrivalled in the category without sacrificing in driving pleasure.

Two Mild Hybrid powertrains complete the all-hybrid range:

• The Mild Hybrid advanced, a first in Renault’s range, combines the new 3 cylinder, 1.2 litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine with a 48 V lithium-ion battery and a starter-alternator. With this 130 hp manual transmission powertrain, All-new Austral treats drivers to a flawless experience along with the lowest consumption and CO₂ emissions in the category (from 5.2 l/100 km and 118 g/km). This powertrain, in other words, is an alternative to latest-generation diesel engines.
• The 12V Mild Hybrid powertrain delivering 160 hp has a 4 cylinder, 1.3 litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine. Consumption starts at 6.2 l/100 km and CO₂ emissions at 140 g/km, and the car is available with automatic transmission.

THREE EQUIPMENT LEVELS AND AN EXCLUSIVE ALPINE SPIRIT TRIM

The All-new Austral range encompasses three equipment levels: equilibre, techno and iconic. The top two are also available with the esprit Alpine trim.

The esprit Alpine trim, a first in the range, gets its incomparable style from the Alpine brand’s motorsports DNA. Its distinctive design rounds out All-new Austral’s appeal with a satin grey sport blade on the front bumper, 20” Daytona alloy rims, bright black glass edges, 3D iridescent tail lights, Alcantara® fabric upholstery with blue overstitching and a nappa steering wheel with blue, white and red stitching.

MOVING UP THE RANGE

At the entry level, All-new Austral equilibre’s looks are chic and fetching outside – including a large chrome-plated grille, and bright black wheel arches and side skirts – and inside – with an eye-catching dashboard, 9 inch central screen and large 12.3 inch driver screen. This version also comes with a rear park assist system, hands-free access card key and push button ignition, and Pure Vision LED lamps.

The techno version comes with more stylish features: 19 inch Komah black diamond-cut alloy rims, faux-leather and fabric upholstery, and custom ambient lighting. It comes with a series of state-of-the-art amenities including the OpenR Link system on a 12.3 inch screen and Google connectivity and services with Google Maps built in. The techno version is roomier than any other car in its category, on account of its 1/3-2/3 sliding seat with a central armrest, and the Easy Break system.  

The iconic variant comes with 20 inch Effie black diamond-cut alloy rims, two-tone bodywork (black roof), a chrome-plated roof rack and 3D iridescent tail lights. Beyond the engaging design, the car’s comfort amenities include a massaging electric driver seat, heating front seats and hands-free powered tailgate as standard. Completing the premium experience, the iconic version also has a 360 3D vision camera and Stop & Go adaptive cruise control.

In all, All-new Renault Austral comes with up to 32 driver assistance systems covering three categories, guarantees of security and serenity: driving, parking and safety.

All-new Austral is ushering in 4CONTROL Advanced, the third generation of Renault’s four-wheel steering system, which we have been honing non-stop for 15 years. It is unrivalled in the C-SUV segment, providing unprecedented comfort levels, unparalleled agility and heightened safety on the road.

All-new Austral is available in seven body colours: glacier white, flame red, bright pearly white, star black, iron blue, schist grey, and an exclusive satin schist grey on the esprit Alpine versions.

PRICING

The equipment-packed techno esprit Alpine E-TECH Full Hybrid version with the star E-TECH 200 hp powertrain and exclusive esprit Alpine design is available for €42,100 or on a 4 years lease with an option to buy for €410^{2 3} a month, following a first €5,000 instalment, including a 4 years warranty and servicing⁴.

The entry-level All-new Austral equilibre version with the Mild Hybrid advanced 130 hp powertrain is available for €33,400 or on a 4 years lease with an option to buy for €330^{1 3} a month, following a first €5,000 instalment, including a 4 years warranty and servicing⁴.

THE MAIN STANDARD EQUIPMENT

All versions, equipment and options will be available in the Austral configurator on renault.fr when orders open.
