After launching the Twizy Way by Renault service on the web at www.twizyway.com, Renault is opening a Twizy Way by Renault store in the main hall of the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines train station.
At the new store, located at the center of the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines agglomeration, customers can get information, subscribe to the service and pick up their badge after signing up physically or on line. The store is open Mondays to Fridays from midday to 7 pm.
After four and a half months of tests and two months of implementation, Renault called on the House of Common Knowledge (HCK) firm to carry out a survey to find out what initial users thought about the service. A full 92% of those surveyed said they enjoyed using Twizy Way by Renault. Driving Twizy brings a number of real-life advantages, with comments including “Short trips are more pleasant and simple (post office, bank, bakers)” and “The main problem it solves is parking or meeting someone and then taking another means of transport (car, train, etc.)”. For users, the carsharing concept is synonymous with “the pleasure of behaving eco-responsibly (no pollution, fewer cars in cities)”.
Users also appreciated the freedom the service offers. Being able to leave a vehicle where you want is a real revolution and step forward in mobility. “It is the most appealing characteristic of Twizy Way by Renault!”; “Being able to drop Twizy off anywhere in the area is the main secret to the success of the service”.
The trial period also proved an opportunity to enhance the offer by extending access to owners of smartphones (Blackberry, Windows Phone) through a new mobile web app.
The positive feedback from the survey attests to the relevance of Renault’s innovative carsharing solution. Twizy Way by Renault is an adapted response to the needs of users who want to use several complementary means of transport as they please.
The solution takes account of changes in our relationship with the automobile, particularly in cities and suburbs, and its success bears out Renault’s thinking on new forms of mobility.
Commenting, Thierry Viadieu, Head of the Mobility Services and Cross-Functional Equipment Program, said: “On the basis of this experience and in line with its innovative strategy on mobility, Renault is looking to launch Twizy Way by Renault in other towns and address other targets, including employees at companies”.
For the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines agglomeration hosting the innovation, Twizy Way by Renault is strong on sustainable mobility. It meets occasional transport needs and adds to the broad range of non-automobile transport means already up and running in the area.
